Commencement

Students crossing the bridge.

WPI’s Commencement Ceremony dates back to 1871 when the university sent the 16 young men of its very first graduating class out into the world. WPI celebrates the completion of graduate and undergraduate degree requirements with two separate graduation ceremonies.

Across two ceremonies on May 9 and May 10, 2024, more than 1,500 graduate and undergraduate students will receive their bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees. As tradition holds, these students will take their final walk as students across Earle Bridge earlier in the week, after the formal faculty vote to confer their respective degrees.
