Connecting Ubuntu LINUX to the Wireless Network?

Requirements

Ubuntu

  • Ubuntu version 9.04 or greater is required.

Instructions - Manual Configuration

Step 1 - Registration Warning

If you have not registered your device in the Wireless: Mobile Wireless Systems IP Range through the Network Registration page, you should do so now. Connect to the open WPI-Wireless-Setup wifi network and do the following:
  1. Visit http://netreg.wpi.edu/ and login with your WPI Username and Password
  2. Quick Registration will identify you
  3. Select IP Range Wireless: Mobile Wireless Systems
  4. Name the computer and choose an Operating System
  5. Wait up to 30 minutes to process the registration

Step 2 - Download Certificates

Download the following files and place them in your home directory:

Step 3 - Connect to WPI-Wireless


Step 4 - Configure Wireless


Use the following settings:

Step 5 - Success!

You should now be successfully connected to WPI-Wireless. If you edit your configuration, you should see the following settings:
