Don Gelosh
- Director of Systems Engineering Programs
Don Gelosh is our first Director of Systems Engineering Programs for the university’s Corporate and Professional Education (CPE) division. In his new role, Don will work closely with the Systems Engineering Advisory Board, foster partnerships among WPI and companies and organizations involved in the systems engineering field, and will also work with WPI’s faculty in the development of the systems engineering programs.

Fred J. Looft
- Academic Director, Systems Engineering Program
Dr. Looft is the Academic Director of the Systems Engineering (SE) Program at WPI. In this role, Dr. Looft is responsible for all aspects of SE academic program development including: identifying, interviewing and selecting program faculty; monitoring and managing course quality; approving instructors for course assignments; and managing course development and approval.

Tom has over 40 years of experience in enterprise systems engineering, real-time control systems and information management systems. His previous position was Director of Information Systems Engineering and Chief Engineer for the Technology and Innovation (T&I) Directorate of the Command and Control Center (C2C) at the MITRE Corporation.

Bob is co-director of The MITRE Corporation's Systems Engineering Practice Office (SEPO) which develops, captures, and shares practical advice and guidance about systems engineering for MITRE's staff. SEPO collaborates with internal and external resources to integrate information, state-of-the-art technologies, and tools with current standards and policies. Prior to this assignment, he was chief engineer in the Systems Engineering Directorate of MITRE's Air Force Center, where he focused on the development of enterprise-level systems engineering models and methods.

Shamsnaz S. Virani
- Faculty
Shamsnaz S. Virani, Teaching Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earned her Ph.D.in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The University of Alabama at Huntsville. She also holds a M.S in Human Factors Engineering from Wright State University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Pune, India.
