17th Seminar "Computer Modeling in Microwave Power Engineering"

Methods and Models for Microwave Processing of Materials

March 11-12, 2015

Bled, Slovenia

Student Contest

Background

Feedback from the previous Seminars in this series indicates that they have been an experience particularly valuable for graduate students, giving them the opportunity to present results of their research, learn about ongoing projects in the field, meet academics and industrialists engaged in modeling business, and form useful connections with them.

Contest for Travel Support

In acknowledgment of this, and in order to further support this trend and make it easier for students to attend the 17th Seminar, we are pleased to announce the availability of two Grants (worth €150 each) aiming to cover a part of the related travel expenses. The Grants will be awarded to two best student papers (as judged by the Program Committee) submitted before the seminar deadline of February 6, 2014. The selection for the best students' contributions will be done in accordance with the criteria of clarity, novelty and innovation.

Terms and Conditions

Students wishing to enter the competition for this award should use the standard submission procedure outlined on the Submission of Abstracts page, and should check the appropriate box on the submission form to indicate that they wish to be considered in this competition.

These Grants are sponsored by the Association for Microwave Power in Europe for Research and Education (AMPERE). This is for the fourth time in a row that the events in this Seminar series are given the opportunity to benefit from the AMPERE sponsorship of the Student Best Paper Contents.

The papers authored/co-authored by the winners of these grants will be automatically accepted to the program of the upcoming Biennial AMPERE meeting - the 15th International Conference on Microwave and High Frequency Heating held in Cracow, Poland from September 14th to September 17th in 2015. The recipients of this Grant will be expected to attend this conference where their success in the Seminar Student Contest will be greeted by the attendees of the largest European microwave heating conference and receive the official certificates as the winners of the Best Student Paper Contest of the 17th Seminar "Computer Modeling in Microwave Power Engineering".

Students wishing to enter the competition for this award should use the standard submission procedure outlined on the Submit Abstract page, and should check the appropriate box on the submission form to indicate that they wish to be considered in this competition. In addition, the students should submit a special form indicating their participation in the contest directly to AMPERE. This form available for downloading on the AMPERE website contains specific instructions of how that form should be submitted.

The winners will be announced at the Closing Session upon the students' presentations at the Seminar in Bled; the funds will be transferred to the winners by AMPERE shortly afterwards.

Seminar registration fee cannot be waived and the accommodation rate cannot be reduced/altered for the winners of the travel grants.
