Transportation to/in Bayreuth

Car (from Munich or Berlin):

Leave the motorway A9 (Munich-Berlin) either at exit nr. 41 (Bayreuth Nord) or nr. 42 (Bayreuth). Follow the signs "Bayreuth" - "Bayreuth Zentrum" - "Universität".

Train:

There are hourly trains between Nuremberg and Bayreuth. Attention: Some trains are divided in Pegnitz - make sure to take the right coach traveling to Bayreuth. Check DB Bahn for all the details (including tickets).

Plane:

The nearest airports are Nuremberg (about 70 km) or Munich (200 km). From there, one can take a train or rent a car.

Bus:

From the main train station, two bus lines go to the ZOH (the city center bus stop): Line 302 - direction "Johannis") and Line 305 (direction "Meyernberg Nord"). From ZOH, two bus lines go to the University: Line 304 (direction "Birken") and Line 306 (direction "Campus/Hohlmühle"), stop "Uni-Verwaltung".
