Borrow & Request

Borrow and Renew

Find out all you need to know about borrowing and renewing materials at Gordon Library.

Faculty Services

Gordon Library works closely with the faculty and provides a wide variety of course reserves and other services.

Off-Campus Access

Gordon Library provides off-campus access to digital and print collections to all students, faculty, and staff.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)

Use ILLiad to request to borrow items from other libraries if Gordon Library doesn't own them. Read our FAQ about interlibrary loan.

Course Reserves

Course reserve materials are intended for in-library use for three hours. At the end of three hours, the item may be charged out again for three more hours if no one else has requested it. Instructors may request other circulation periods.

Library reserve materials that normally circulate may be charged out overnight. These items may be taken out 30 minutes before closing and are due back one hour after opening the next day. Faculty personal reserve items (books, photocopies, etc.) are not available for overnight sign-out without the instructor's permission.

Library Account

Use “My Library Card” to see which books are checked out to you and when they’re due, renew books, check on the status of hold and recall requests, and make sure you don’t owe any fines. WPI faculty, students, and staff can login using their WPI username and password.

Request an Item

Requesting an item is easy through WPI Library Search. Some library materials are stored in Founders Hall, so simply request an item for in-library use if its location is listed as FOUNDERS STORAGE.

Suggest a Purchase

WPI faculty, students, and staff are encouraged to suggest a purchase of books or other materials you think the library should add to its collection.
